Windstorm in Bauchi Claims Lives of Two Children

On June 29, 2029, a violent windstorm struck Bash village in Burra, Ningi Local Government Area, Bauchi State, leading to the tragic deaths of two minors aged 8 and 12. The incident occurred around 4:00 PM when five children sought refuge under a tree during heavy rainfall, which was uprooted by the storm.

The Bauchi State Police Command, through spokesperson SP Nafiu Habib, reported that police officers were quickly dispatched to the scene, where they transported the victims to the primary health care center in Bash for medical attention. Unfortunately, two of the children were confirmed dead by medical practitioners, while two others were admitted for treatment.

The police commissioner, Mr. Sani Omolori Aliyu, expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and urged parents and guardians to caution their children against seeking shelter under trees during storms.

The incident is under investigation, and arrangements for burial according to Islamic rites are being made.
