Rainstorm in Bauchi Claims Two Lives, Causes Destruction

A devastating rainstorm struck Bauchi State early Wednesday morning, claiming the lives of two individuals: Aisha Sagir, aged 50, and her four-year-old granddaughter, Aisha Shuaibu. The storm caused extensive damage in Kirfi Local Government Area (LGA), where houses and livestock were swept away, resulting in losses valued in millions of naira.

The Bauchi State Police Command, through its spokesperson Nafiu Habib, confirmed the incident and reported that police operations were dispatched to the scene to assess the damage and maintain law and order. Commissioner of Police Sani Omolori Aliyu expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved families and urged the community to remain vigilant during the rainy season.

He assured that the command is ready to collaborate with relevant agencies to support disaster response efforts and ensure the safety of lives and properties across the state.
