Rainstorm in Bauchi Claims Lives of Grandmother and Granddaughter

On June 10, 2026, heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds in Kirfi Local Government Area, Bauchi State, led to the tragic deaths of 50-year-old Aisha Sagir and her four-year-old granddaughter, Aisha Shuaibu. The Bauchi State Police Command confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Wednesday by spokesperson Nafiu Habib.

The severe weather resulted in the destruction of several houses and livestock, with damages estimated to be worth millions of naira. Following the incident, operatives from the Kirfi Division of the police visited the affected area to assess the extent of the damage and maintain law and order.
