Bauchi Governor Pardons 73 Inmates for Reform

On a recent occasion at the Government House in Bauchi, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State granted pardons to 73 inmates, highlighting the principle that no human being is beyond reform. This decision was made in accordance with Section 212 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), and is not merely a routine administrative act but a deliberate choice aimed at providing deserving individuals a new lease on life.

Governor Mohammed noted the importance of wisdom and restraint in implementing such measures, balancing the sanctity of law with a higher call for redemption. He allocated N100,000 to beneficiaries to support their reintegration into society.

The ceremony coincided with the holy month of Ramadan, reinforcing themes of mercy, reflection, and renewal.
