Bauchi Police Arrest Two Suspects in Kidnapping Case

Bauchi Police arrested two suspects, Moham Usman, aged 39, and Hayatudeen Ahmad, aged 40, in connection with the kidnapping of a four-year-old boy from Gida Dudu Housing Estate. The incident occurred on June 9, 2026, around 1:30 PM, when Usman lured the boy to his home under the pretense that he was critically ill and needed to be kept overnight.

Following the abduction, Usman wrote a ransom note demanding 5 million naira and provided a phone number for payment. The boy's father reported the kidnapping, leading to a preliminary investigation by the police.

The child was subsequently found alive and in good health, and he has been reunited with his family. Both suspects are currently in police custody, and investigations are ongoing, with plans to charge them in court.
