Bauchi Police Rescue Kidnapped Four-Year-Old Boy

The Bauchi State Police Command arrested two suspects, Muhammad Usman, 39, and Hayatudeen Ahmad, 40, in connection with the kidnapping of a four-year-old boy, whose name has been withheld. The incident occurred on June 9, 2026, when the child was abducted in front of his residence at Gida Dudu Housing Estate.

The boy's father, a 45-year-old resident, lodged a formal complaint with the police. Preliminary investigations revealed that Usman allegedly lured the child away from his home and subsequently conspired with Ahmad to conceal the crime.

Usman deceived Ahmad by claiming the boy was his sister's son and that he was critically ill, asking Ahmad to keep the child overnight. The suspects later wrote a ransom note demanding N5 million from the victim's family.

Following the complaint, police detectives successfully tracked the suspects, leading to the child's safe recovery. The suspects are currently in police custody, and the investigation is ongoing.

Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, Sani Omolori Aliyu, commended the detectives for their prompt response.
