Bauchi Police Arrest Two Kidnappers, Rescue Four-Year-Old

The Bauchi State Police Command arrested two suspected kidnappers, Muhammad Usman, 39, and Hayatudeen Ahmad, 40, and successfully rescued a four-year-old boy named Musa, whose surname was withheld. The incident began when Musa was abducted on June 9, 2026, from his home in Gida Dudu Housing Estate.

His father, a 45-year-old resident, lodged a formal complaint after the abduction. Preliminary investigations revealed that Usman allegedly lured the child under the pretense of a family connection, claiming the boy was his sister's son who was critically ill.

The suspects later demanded a ransom of N5 million through a note. Upon receiving the complaint, police launched an operation that led to the discovery of the child unharmed at Ahmad's residence.

The suspects are currently in police custody and will face charges. Bauchi State Police Commissioner Sani Omolori Aliyu commended the detectives for their swift action and urged parents to educate their children about safety.
