Bauchi Tourism Board Reviews Performance and Strategies

The Bauchi State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) convened its quarterly board meeting at its headquarters in Bauchi, Nigeria, to evaluate its performance and strategize for the future. The meeting, led by Managing Director Dr.

Muhammad Nasiru Yusuf, reviewed reports spanning the first to the fourth quarter and assessed the current board structure. A significant focus was placed on the conservation of heritage sites, particularly the Baban Gwani Gidan Madaki monument, a 19th-century architectural masterpiece.

The board acknowledged concerns regarding the preservation of the monument and discussed the need for an immediate conservation framework to protect it from physical deterioration. Additionally, the BSTDC outlined new tourism development strategies that emphasize public-private partnerships, aiming to collaborate with local stakeholders and international conservation bodies to transform historical assets into globally recognized cultural tourism hubs.

Dr. Yusuf reaffirmed the corporation's commitment to enhancing market infrastructure and community engagement to position Bauchi State as a premier tourism destination.
