FCT Revenue Surges from ₦9bn to ₦40bn Under Wike

Nyesom Wike, during an interview in Abuja, disclosed that the revenue of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has significantly increased from ₦9 billion to ₦40 billion. This growth is attributed to deliberate efforts aimed at blocking revenue leakages and strengthening the collection of land-related revenues, including ground rent fees and certificates of occupancy.

Wike emphasized that the improvement in revenue generation is crucial for enabling the FCT Administration to finance critical infrastructure projects and enhance service delivery across the nation's capital. He noted that the increase in internal generated revenue did not occur by chance but resulted from policy reforms and administrative measures implemented since he assumed office.

Wike stressed the importance of effective leadership, accountability, and prudent management of public resources to sustain development and good governance in the FCT.
