APC Bayelsa Elects Hon. Warman Ogoriba as Chairman

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State conducted a historic congress on Tuesday, where Hon. Warman Ogoriba emerged as the new chairman.

The congress took place at the Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre in Yenagoa. Governor Douye Diri commended the peaceful and rancor-free nature of the event, highlighting it as a significant improvement over previous party elections that were marred by conflict and violence.

He expressed gratitude to party members and urged the new executive to work collaboratively to ensure continued peace and progress in the state. Dr.

Denni Otiotio, the outgoing caretaker committee chairman, acknowledged Diri's leadership style, which fostered unity within the party. The congress also saw the dissolution of the former executive and the election of a new executive committee, which includes 37 members.

Key figures in attendance included various state lawmakers and the managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku.
