Bayelsa APC Youths Demand Termination of Pipeline Contract

The APC Youth Network in Bayelsa State has called for the immediate termination of a pipeline protection contract following the resignation of former deputy governorship candidate Joshua MacIver from the party. MacIver reportedly served as a coordinator for Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, which holds the contract.

The youth group, led by Comrade Prey Godson, accused MacIver of benefiting immensely from the deal while showing little loyalty to the party. They allege the contract, valued at approximately $144 million (or 48 billion naira), has been hijacked by opportunists who prioritize personal gain over national security.

The group expressed concerns over illegal oil theft and the concentration of resources in the hands of a few, whose primary allegiance is profit rather than national interest. They demand a full forensic audit of the contract's award, payment, and performance metrics, urging President Bola Tinubu to terminate the contract upon completion of the probe and replace it with a transparent, competitive framework.
