MacIver Warns Bayelsa APC of Internal Conflicts Ahead

Joshua MacIver, the ex-deputy governorship candidate for the APC in Bayelsa State, expressed serious concerns regarding the internal conflicts within the Bayelsa chapter of the APC. In a statement released on Saturday, he warned that the party might lose key stakes in the state and national assembly gubernatorial primaries if prevailing injustices are not addressed.

MacIver highlighted several pitfalls, including imbalances within the party and the influence of Governor Douye Diri, which could hinder the APC's chances in the 2027 elections. He noted the significant margin between the two political blocs in the state, with a ratio of approximately 95 to 5, following Diri's defection to the APC.

MacIver cautioned that failure to unify the party could lead to dissatisfaction and further defections. He reiterated the importance of loyalty to President Bola Tinubu and urged party leaders to ensure that no loopholes are created that could be exploited by political rivals.

He also congratulated the newly elected state executive of the APC in Bayelsa, led by Warman Ogoriba.
