Bayelsa State Launches Committees for 30th Anniversary

The Bayelsa State Government has inaugurated six sub-committees to prepare for the 30th anniversary of the state's creation, promising a historic celebration. The inauguration took place at Government House in Yenagoa on a Friday, led by Deputy Governor Dr Peter Akpe.

He stated that the anniversary would be an opportunity to appreciate God for the state's progress over the past three decades. Akpe urged the committees to submit proposals for activities within two weeks, emphasizing the importance of strategic planning for a memorable celebration.

The three-day anniversary celebration is scheduled to commence on September 29 and will be preceded by two weeks of inaugurating public infrastructure projects completed by the Prosperity Administration. Planned activities include a cultural carnival, boat regatta, an anniversary lecture, sporting events, a state banquet, and an awards night.

The committees include the Awards Sub-Committee chaired by His Majesty King Bubaraye Dakolo, the Sports Sub-Committee led by Daniel Igali, and others with various leadership roles.
