Governor Diri Receives Ijaw Congress Reconciliation Report

On Friday, Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State received the report from the eight-member reconciliation committee of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) at the Government House in Yenagoa. This committee was inaugurated on May 26, 2026, with a mandate to reconcile grievances and interests within the INC, particularly in light of disputes surrounding the presidential election.

Governor Diri expressed optimism that the committee's recommendations would foster peace and progress, contributing to the stability of the Ijaw nation and Nigeria as a whole. He commended the committee members for their diligent work in compiling the report within the stipulated timeframe.

The committee's chairman, Dr. Matthew Seiyefa, noted that the INC must engage with the Ijaw people to address their concerns and aspirations.
