Major General Ajose Trains 925 Borno Forest Guards for Security

On September 20, 2026, Major General Ibikunle Ajose, the Theatre Commander of the Joint Task Force North-east, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), addressed 925 newly trained Borno State Forest Guards at their graduation ceremony held in Abuja. He emphasized the importance of being fearless, decisive, and professional as they assist in countering terrorism and criminal activities in the state.

The Forest Guards underwent a two-week acclimatization training at the North-East Theatre Training School (NETTS) in Buni Yadi, Yobe State. Major General Ajose highlighted that their training and local knowledge would enhance military operations.

He urged the graduates to apply their skills responsibly and respect civilians, while also warning against harassment and rivalry with other security agencies. The Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, represented by Professor Usman Tar, noted that the initiative aims to provide structured support to the Armed Forces.

The Commandant of NETTS, Brigadier General Amadike Onaogu, explained that the training was designed to build confidence and adaptability among the Forest Guards.
