APC Chieftain Critiques Kwankwaso's Alliance with Obi

Goriola Yakub, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), commented on Rabiu Kwankwaso's recent decision to align with Peter Obi as his running mate in the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). Yakub asserted that this choice could hinder Kwankwaso's political aspirations for the 2031 elections, potentially marking it as his worst political decision.

In an interview with Trust TV, Yakub referenced Kwankwaso's previous stance in 2022, where he expressed that, as a Northerner, he could not serve as a running mate to Obi. Yakub pointed out that Kwankwaso's shift to accepting a vice presidential role indicates a lack of viable options.

He further argued that Kwankwaso has no pathway to deliver Northern Nigeria for Obi, questioning how Kwankwaso could support Obi when he himself failed to secure the North as a presidential candidate for the New Nigeria Peoples Democratic Party (NNPP) before defecting to the NDC.
