APC's Basiru Claims Atiku Lacks Expertise for Presidency

Ajibola Basiru, the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stated that Nigerians will reject Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), in the upcoming 2027 elections. During an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Basiru compared Atiku to Kenya’s former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, suggesting that 2027 will be Atiku's last attempt to run for president.

He criticized Atiku's qualifications, claiming that being vice president does not equate to being an expert. Basiru described Atiku as a tax collector who has no professional expertise, stating that he was trained as a hygiene expert in Kano.

He dismissed Atiku's statements regarding petrol pricing as lies aimed at garnering votes, asserting that Atiku is not a professional and lacks a credible profile. Basiru concluded that Atiku will soon realize that the Nigerian populace will reject him in the elections.
