Benue Assembly suspends four members after failed attempt to impeach speaker

The Benue State House Assembly has suspended four members for allegedly holding a clandestine meeting without the approval of the House to impeach Speaker Hon Hyacinth Dajoh. The suspended members are Alfred Aondoaver from Makurdi North State Constituency, Shimawua Emmanuel from Vandeikya II, Cyril Ikong from Oju II State Constituency, and Abu Umoru James from Apa State Constituency.

Majority Leader of the House, Saater Tiseer, moved the motion for their suspension, citing their attempt to cause chaos in the House. The suspension is for three months.

This action comes after the House passed a vote of confidence in the leadership of the Governor of Benue State.
