Benue State Deploys Drones Against Bandit Attacks

In response to a recent bandit attack that left 13 people dead in the Apa Local Government Area of Benue State, security forces have initiated a joint operation involving the deployment of drones. Benue State Commissioner of Police, Ifeanyi, confirmed the attack and stated that the operation aims to track the attackers who escaped into nearby forests.

The operation, which is part of a broader effort dubbed "Operation Whirl Stroke," includes collaboration between police, military, and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps. Commissioner Ifeanyi praised Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia for his commitment to addressing insecurity caused by armed herders and bandits.

He emphasized the importance of collaboration with local authorities and vigilant youth to improve security. The police are actively conducting patrols across communities to ensure safety and control the situation, with ongoing operations aimed at flushing out criminal elements.
