Bill Cosby Ordered to Pay $19.3 Million for Assault

A California court has ordered Bill Cosby to pay $19.3 million to Donna Motsing, who accused him of drugging and sexually assaulting her 50 years ago when she was a waitress. Motsing, now 84, alleged that the assault occurred after Cosby offered her a drink.

Cosby, 88, denied any memory of sexual contact and insisted that any encounter was consensual. After three days of deliberation, the jury ruled in favor of Motsing, and the awarded amount may potentially increase due to punitive damages.

This case follows previous civil and criminal proceedings against Cosby, including a 2022 verdict that awarded $500,000 to Judi Huth for a 1975 molestation incident. Cosby was criminally convicted in 2018, but that conviction was later overturned.

He has faced numerous allegations of sexual misconduct from multiple women over the past decades.
