Babcock VC Calls Youth to Lead in Peace and Development

On Monday, Prof. Afolarin Ojewole, the Vice-Chancellor of Babcock University in Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, called on young people to take responsibility for promoting peace, sustainable development, and human rights.

He made this appeal during the opening of the 10th session of the Babcock International Model United Nations (BIMUN), which gathered over 450 delegates from 22 countries. The conference, themed ‘Better Together: A Decade of BIMUN Advancing the United Nation’s Vision for Peace, Development and Human Rights’, aimed to enhance leadership, negotiation, and diplomacy skills among participants.

Ms. Kehinde Osotimehin, representing the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Nigeria, emphasized the importance of collective action in addressing global challenges.

Former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, highlighted education as a tool for national unity and urged participants to become transformational leaders. The event showcased the commitment of young people to shaping a peaceful future through cooperation and dialogue.
