Pakistan Declares 'Open War' on Taliban in Afghanistan

On Friday, Pakistan intensified military actions against Afghanistan, launching airstrikes in major Afghan cities, including Kabul and Kandahar. Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif declared an "open war" on the Taliban-led government, following a series of cross-border attacks that left 70 people dead in October.

Reports indicate that Pakistani forces targeted Taliban positions, with loud explosions and fighter jets heard throughout the night. The situation deteriorated sharply, with Islamabad accusing Kabul of failing to rein in militant groups responsible for attacks on Pakistani troops.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid confirmed the airstrikes but reported no casualties. The conflict has raised concerns about the fragile truce brokered earlier this year, with diplomatic efforts from Saudi Arabia and Iran aimed at easing tensions.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warned that the military is prepared for a decisive response, following multiple airstrikes and skirmishes along the volatile border.
