Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment to Eradicate Terrorism

Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar stated that the country remains firmly committed to eradicating the menace of terrorism as a temporary ceasefire in Afghanistan approaches its conclusion. The ceasefire, which was announced last Wednesday to mark Eid al-Fitr and the end of Ramadan, is set to expire at midnight on Monday.

Dar's comments emphasize Pakistan's unwavering stance against terrorism, particularly in light of recent hostilities that have escalated since February. The Taliban government has faced accusations from Islamabad of harboring extremists responsible for cross-border attacks.

In a related incident, Afghan authorities reported that 400 individuals were killed in the latest skirmishes, which included a Pakistani strike on a drug rehabilitation center in Kabul. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's message on Monday highlighted that military actions inside Afghanistan symbolize Pakistan's resolve against terrorism and its commitment to maintaining peace and security within its borders.
