Pakistan Declares 'Open War' on Afghanistan Amid Airstrikes

On Friday, Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif declared an "open war" against Afghanistan after airstrikes targeted major cities, including Kabul and Kandahar. This escalation follows a series of deadly clashes along the border, which have resulted in the deaths of 70 people in October alone.

The Pakistani military accused Afghanistan of failing to act against militant groups, particularly the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The Taliban government in Afghanistan denied any involvement in the attacks.

Reports indicate that Pakistani jets were heard over Kabul, and significant blasts were reported throughout the night. The situation has deteriorated despite previous ceasefire negotiations brokered by Qatar and Turkey, which failed to yield lasting agreements.

The Pakistani military's operations have reportedly resulted in civilian casualties, with Afghan officials confirming multiple injuries near the Torkham border crossing. The conflict has drawn international attention, with Saudi Arabia offering to mediate dialogue between the two nations.
