Blessing Otu Advances in CBN Senior Tennis Championship

Blessing Otu successfully advanced to the second round of the 47th edition of the Central Bank of Nigeria Senior Tennis Championship held at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. In the women's singles category, Otu, who is 19 years old and left-handed, defeated Kelvin Bebe Emmanuella in straight sets, winning 6-1, 6-3.

In a post-match interview, Otu acknowledged Bebe as a tough opponent but credited her game plan for the victory. Additionally, John Otu won his match against Moham Abdusalam with a score of 2-1 (6-2, 6-7, 6-1) to advance to the round of 32 in the men's singles category.

However, Thoma Otu faced elimination after losing to Danjuma Isaac in straight sets, 6-0, 7-5. Other notable results included Michael Emmanuel defeating Ibrahim Aminu and Drimiya Mevi outclassing Seyi Ogunsakin.

The tournament will continue on Wednesday with top players competing.
