BNLF Summit Enhances UK-Nigeria Investment Partnerships

The British Nigeria Law Forum (BNLF) hosted its second summit in Lagos, Nigeria, aimed at fostering stronger investment and legal partnerships between the UK and Nigeria. The summit, themed "New Dawn: Law and Investment Opportunities," coincided with the forum's 25th anniversary.

It featured a welcome cocktail and high-level roundtable discussions, including participation from the Deputy British High Commission. BNLF Chairman Kash Balogun reflected on the enduring relationship between legal practitioners and business leaders from both countries.

Keynote speaker Professor Konyinsola Ajayi SAN urged policymakers to sustain reforms that promote regulatory certainty and strengthen institutions to improve the business environment. The summit included panel discussions on Nigeria's investment climate, new tax laws, and the future of dispute resolution.

It attracted senior advocates, judges, corporate counsel, business executives, and investors, emphasizing the need for legal certainty and innovative institutional support to sustain economic development. The summit concluded with recommendations to improve the investment climate and expand commercial opportunities, reinforcing the role of the legal profession in promoting economic growth.
