PDP Leaders Honor Funsho Williams on 20th Death Anniversary

On Monday, prominent figures from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including former Deputy National Chairman Chief Bode George and former Lagos State Deputy Governor Chief Koforola Akerele-Bucknor, gathered in Lagos to honor the 20th anniversary of the death of Engr. Funsho Williams, the party's governorship candidate in the 2003 Lagos election.

Williams was murdered on July 27, 2006, by unidentified assailants. The remembrance service took place at St.

Dominic’s Catholic Church in Yaba, Lagos. Chief Bode George described Williams as an epitome of civility and service, recalling the painful memory of receiving the news of his murder.

Dr. Funso Doherty praised Williams' enduring legacy, while Lagos State PDP Chairman Dr.

Amos Fawole highlighted his commitment to governance aimed at improving lives. Rev.

Fr. Dominic Mbom, who officiated the service, encouraged the congregation to lead lives rooted in faith and righteousness.
