Peter Obi Honors Late Rev. Dr. William Okoy's Legacy

During a condolence visit to the family of the late Rev. Dr. William Okoy on Saturday in Abuja, Peter Obi, a member of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), described Okoy as a rare spiritual leader whose legacy endures. Rev. Okoy, who served as the chaplain at Aso Villa during the administrations of former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, passed away peacefully on July 15, as announced by Rev. Godwin Tsee on behalf of the board of trustees of the Christian Fellowship Mission (ACFM).

Obi expressed profound sadness at Okoy's death, highlighting his deep faith, commitment to service, and ability to inspire countless individuals. Victor Okoy, the deceased's son, thanked Nigerians for their prayers and support, emphasizing his father's teachings on service to God and humanity.

The late cleric is survived by six children and nine grandchildren, and his legacy is urged to be preserved by his family and church members.
