Boko Haram Kills Soldiers, Abducts Women and Children in Borno

Boko Haram launched a significant attack in Borno, overpowering troops at the 82 Division Task Force Battalion military base and targeting the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp. Local security sources confirmed that during the assault, which coincided with Ramadan, the terrorists abducted approximately 100 women and children.

Reports indicate that nine soldiers' bodies were recovered, while the actual number of casualties remains uncertain. The attackers also destroyed military vehicles and ransacked the surrounding community, leading to further displacement.

The chief imam of the community was reportedly killed, and the attack has raised serious concerns regarding military operations in the Sambisa Forest and Mandara Mountain areas. Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, condemned the attack, highlighting the ongoing security challenges that hinder government resettlement plans in the region.
