Boko Haram Attack Claims Lives of Four Policemen in Borno

On Sunday, April 4, 2023, the Borno State Police Command confirmed that at least four policemen and a local hunter were killed during separate attacks by suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists in the Nganzai and Mobbar local government areas of Borno State. The first attack occurred on Saturday at 1:00 AM when armed terrorists attempted to overrun the Nganzai division police headquarters.

According to ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, police personnel, supported by a mobile force and a crack squad, engaged in a fierce gun battle with the attackers and successfully repelled the assault, restoring normalcy to the area. However, the terrorists reportedly deployed sophisticated weapons, including rocket-propelled grenades, which caused damage to parts of the police facility.
