Borno Police Honor Four Officers Killed in Terror Attack

On April 5, 2026, the Borno State Police Command conducted a burial ceremony for four officers who were killed during a terrorist attack in Nganzai Local Government Area. The deceased included two inspectors, Samuel Ezekiel and Sanusi Moham, and two constables, Bitru Luka and Shaibu Bukar.

The attack, attributed to Boko Haram and ISWAP, occurred at the Nganzai division police headquarters, where the officers were engaged in a fierce gun battle against armed terrorists using sophisticated weapons, including rocket-propelled grenades. The police successfully repelled the attack, which aimed to overrun the town, but unfortunately, the four officers paid the ultimate price in the line of duty.

The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including the Commissioner of Police for Borno State, Nazir Abdulmajid, and the Assistant Commissioner of Police for Operations, ACP Jawi Moham. The funeral rites were conducted according to religious customs, with prayers offered for the fallen heroes.
