Book to Celebrate Dr. Kawu's 50 Years in Media

A book celebrating Dr. Haq Modibbo Kawu's 50 years in the media landscape is set to be unveiled on February 1, 2027.

Dr. Kawu commenced his career at the defunct Nigerian Broadcast Corporation (NBC) Radio Nigeria in 1977 at the age of 16.

The book aims to reflect on his extensive contributions to the media industry and will include statements made available by Professor Ayodel Joseph from Kaduna State University on behalf of the organizing committee. The event is expected to invite 200 people to share thoughts on Kawu's life and work.

Contributors are encouraged to submit tributes of up to 1,000 words, highlighting Kawu's public service and his roles as a trade union leader, first chairman of the Radio, Television, Theatre Workers Union (RATTAWU), and vice chairman of the Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC). Kawu's involvement in various movements, including the Nigerian student movement and the Northern Media Forum, underscores his significant impact on the media landscape over the past fifty years.
