OxTrack Enhances Teacher Effectiveness in Nigeria and Kenya

OxTrack is an initiative aimed at improving teacher effectiveness and learning outcomes through a data-driven approach. It has been developed by scholars at the University of Oxford and is currently being piloted among 10,000 teachers in Nigeria and Kenya.

The platform allows teachers to assess their knowledge and receive personalized feedback, including AI-enabled tutoring tools. Former Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, who led the design and implementation of the EdoBEST program, which transformed the public primary school system in Edo State since its launch in 2018, is actively participating in discussions about educational reform.

EdoBEST focuses on teacher retraining, digital lesson delivery, and real-time classroom monitoring, significantly improving literacy and numeracy outcomes. The program has garnered global attention, with the World Bank highlighting it as a model for large-scale teacher professional development in developing countries.
