Shettima Condoles Armed Forces After Borno Attack

On a visit to Maiduguri, Borno State, Kashim Shettima, the Vice President of Nigeria, extended condolences to the families of military personnel who lost their lives in a recent attack. The incident, which occurred in the Benisheikh area, resulted in the deaths of at least 18 senior officers and an unspecified number of civilians.

During his visit, Shettima met with the Theatre Commander, Maj Gen Abdulsalam Abubakar, and other top government officials. The visit was conducted at the behest of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families affected by the attack.

Shettima emphasized the sacrifices made by the armed forces and assured continued support from the federal government to the military and the people of Borno State, who face significant security challenges. He reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring that criminals have no safe haven in the region.
