Shettima Briefs Tinubu on Maiduguri Bombing Aftermath

On a recent visit to Lagos, Vice President Kashim Shettima briefed President Bola Tinubu regarding the security situation in Maiduguri, Borno State, after a tragic suicide bombing incident on Monday that resulted in at least 23 fatalities and over 100 injuries. The bombing occurred around 7:02 PM in popular areas including the Maiduguri Monday market and near the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.

During his visit, Shettima engaged with families affected by the attack and condemned the violence, emphasizing that no religious justification exists for such acts against innocent civilians. He assured the families of the victims that the Federal Government, alongside the National Emergency Management Agency and the North East Development Commission, would provide full support.

Shettima declared a commitment to restoring peace and security in Borno State and the northeastern region of Nigeria.
