Shettima Visits Borno Bomb Blast Victims, Condemns Attack

On Wednesday, Vice President Kashim Shettima visited victims of a recent bomb blast receiving treatment at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital in Borno State. Accompanying him was the Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), who spoke to journalists during the visit.

Shettima expressed condolences to the families affected by the attack, praising the deceased and wishing a quick recovery to the injured. He condemned the attack, stating that no religion supports the killing of innocent people.

The Vice President reassured the Nigerian government’s commitment to ensuring peace across the country. Earlier reports indicated that the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, and Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, arrived in Maiduguri following the terrorist attack.

They proceeded directly to the Theatre Command Headquarters of the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai at the Air Force Base, where they met with Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar and other top military brass.
