Ndume Warns of Keke NAPEP Used in Maiduguri Bombings

On a Thursday night, Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, expressed serious concerns about the recent deadly bomb attacks in Maiduguri, Borno State. He revealed that the explosives used in these attacks were delivered by tricycles, commonly referred to as Keke NAPEP.

The attacks occurred on a Monday, resulting in the deaths of at least 23 individuals and injuring 108 others. Multiple explosions targeted key locations, including a busy market, the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, and a post office.

Ndume highlighted that the insurgents are employing hit-and-run strategies, aided by local intelligence networks. He warned that the situation could worsen due to lapses in intelligence gathering and surveillance, stressing the urgent need for improved security coordination as insurgents become increasingly bold in their operations.
