Borno Governor Donates N150m to Slain Officers' Families

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum donated a total of N150 million to the families of three Lieutenant Colonels—Umar Farouq, Salihu Iliyasu, and Aliyu Saidu Paiko—who were killed in action while combating Boko Haram terrorists. On Wednesday, Zulum visited the families, starting with the family of late Lt.

Col. Salihu Iliyasu in Abuja, where he presented a cheque of N50 million.

He expressed condolences and paid tribute to the officers' service to the nation. Following this, he traveled to Kano State to present another N50 million cheque to the families of Lt.

Col. Aliyu Saidu Paiko and Lt.

Col. Umar Farouq.

Zulum commended the bravery and sacrifice of the slain officers in ongoing counter-insurgency operations. He also announced plans to assist families of military personnel killed in action, including scholarships for their orphaned children.

The governor was accompanied by several officials during these visits.
