Boy Injured by Stray Bullet During NDLEA Raid in C’River

During a raid conducted by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Ikang, Bakassi Local Government Area, Cross River State, a young boy was struck by a stray bullet amid a chaotic confrontation with a mob. The operation led to the arrest of two suspected drug dealers and the recovery of illicit substances.

Tensions escalated when the mob allegedly attacked the NDLEA operatives, causing panic in the community. Eyewitnesses reported that gunshots were fired, prompting residents to flee for safety.

The situation calmed down after the initial chaos, but it was discovered that the boy had been hit and was lying on the ground. He was subsequently rushed to the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, where he received treatment and was reported to be responding positively.

Sebastian Lebo, the public relations officer for NDLEA in Cross River State, confirmed the incident and stated that despite the attack, the operation was successful in apprehending the suspects.
