BPP Launches 2026 Procurement Training for Transparency

The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) initiated the Batch A 2026 Mandatory Continuous Public Procurement Capacity Development Training Programme (MCPPCDTP) at the Petroleum Technology Development Fund Centre for Skills Development and Training (PTDF—CSDT) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. This induction course is designed to equip procurement personnel from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) with essential principles of transparency, accountability, and value for money as outlined in the Public Procurement Act 2007.
Dr. Adebowale A. Adedokun, FCIPS, the Director-General/CEO of BPP, emphasized the importance of procurement officers in maintaining public trust and the transition towards an electronic government procurement system to combat corruption.
The training program, which includes around 700 procurement officers, aims to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda by ensuring effective utilization of government funds. Dr. Adedokun noted that this training is a strategic investment in enhancing public procurement processes and national development.
