BPP Completes 2026 Procurement Training for 300 Officers

The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) successfully concluded Batch A of its 2026 Mandatory Continuous Public Procurement Capacity Development Training Programme (MCPPCDTP) for Public Procurement Officers from Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and some State Governments. The three-week program, which ended with a mandatory examination on Saturday at the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) Skills Development Training Centre in Igwuruta, Port Harcourt, had over 300 participants.
Dr. Adebowale A. Adedokun, the Director-General/CEO of BPP, stated that the examination is a standard practice to assess participants' understanding of the training. Those who pass will be certified as procurement officers, while those who fail will have two additional attempts.
Dr. Adedokun emphasized the importance of ethical conduct and the role of procurement officers in advising their superiors. He noted that failure to pass after three attempts could lead to redeployment from procurement roles.
The program aims to institutionalize procurement as a career path and promote the establishment of Procurement Clubs in tertiary institutions.
