BPP to Host Stakeholder Meetings in Lagos and Kano

The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) is scheduled to meet with stakeholders and contractors in Lagos and Kano from February 17 to 26, 2026. The meetings aim to discuss methodologies for assessing the procurement system and mapping a framework to enhance the role of public procurement in Nigeria.

A statement issued by Mr. Zira Zakka Nagga, the head of the press and public relations unit of the BPP, outlined the objectives of the meetings, which include engaging contractors, consulting service providers, and civil society organizations to foster dialogue on the framework's benefits for Nigeria's procurement system. The meetings will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to offer feedback and input to develop the national procurement strategy.

The meetings also aim to align Nigeria's procurement reform agenda with the roles of all stakeholders for successful implementation. Participants will include representatives from government institutions, the private sector, professional bodies, civil society organizations, and development partners involved in procurement oversight and advocacy.

The meetings will be held at the Tahir Guest Palace in Kano and the Sheraton Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos, starting at 10:00 AM.
