BPSR Inducts SSDC Board on Governance and Accountability

The Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), led by Director-General Mr. Dasuki Ibrahim-Arabi, conducted an induction program for the Governing Board and Management of the South-South Development Commission (SSDC) in Abuja. This 12th induction since 2018 aims to enhance accountability and governance within public institutions.

Ibrahim-Arabi highlighted the importance of understanding governance frameworks, public financial management, and ethical conduct. He stressed the need for participants to recognize the boundaries between the responsibilities of governing boards and management to promote transparency.

Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, delivered the keynote address, advising the SSDC Governing Board to refrain from interfering in the Commission's daily administration, which is the responsibility of the Chief Executive Officer. He urged board members to familiarize themselves with relevant laws and maintain a collaborative relationship with management.

The induction program was officially opened by Akume.
