Falconets Crush New Caledonia 10-1, Advance to Last 16

Nigeria’s Falconets achieved a remarkable 10-1 victory over New Caledonia in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup held in Poland, advancing to the last 16 stage. After a challenging start with a loss to Spain and a goalless draw against China, the Falconets responded decisively.

Head Coach Moses Aduku's team dominated the match, particularly in the second half, where they scored all ten goals. Winner Onajite David led the scoring with a hat-trick, netting goals in the 60th, 75th, and stoppage time.

Other goals came from Ramotalahi Kareem, Rebecca Adegbemile, and Tosin Rafiu. New Caledonia managed a consolation goal through Joceline Kourevi in the 89th minute.

The victory improved Nigeria's goal difference and secured a second-place finish in Group F with four points. NFF’s Acting General Secretary, Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme, praised the team's performance and expressed confidence in their potential as they prepare to face England in the next round.
