Nigerian Bread Makers Dismiss Flour Price Reduction Claims

The Premium Breadmakers Association of Nigeria (PBAN) has refuted claims of a reduction in the price of 50kg flour to N35,000, highlighting the current price range of N55,000 to N62,000 depending on the brand and location of purchase. The association denounced viral social media posts alleging a significant drop in flour prices as malicious and deceptive.

While acknowledging marginal price reductions, PBAN emphasized the challenges faced by bakers due to rising costs of energy, equipment maintenance, logistics, and other operational expenses. The association urged the public to disregard misinformation and assured its commitment to providing quality, safe, and affordable bread.
