Nigerian Bakers Association Dismisses Claims of Flour Price Reduction Amid Rising Costs

The Premium Breadmakers Association of Nigeria (PBAN) has refuted claims of a reduction in flour prices, expressing worry over the continuous increase in flour prices. The association dismissed viral social media posts alleging a significant drop in flour prices, labeling them as malicious and deceptive.

PBAN emphasized the challenges faced by bakers, including rising costs of energy, equipment maintenance, logistics, and multiple taxes. While acknowledging a marginal price reduction, PBAN highlighted the overall cost pressures on bakery operations, making substantial price cuts infeasible at the moment.

The association affirmed its commitment to providing quality, safe, and affordable bread while urging the public to ignore misinformation.
