Ogun State Rescues Five Gateway Poly Students from Kidnappers

Five students from Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Saapade, Ogun State, were rescued along with two non-students in a security operation on Friday. The operation, conducted by the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigerian Army, Nigerian Police, and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), took place in Alamala community.

Five suspects were arrested during the operation. Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun commended the security agencies for their collaboration and described the rescue as a significant achievement in the fight against kidnapping.

He noted that one victim sustained a gunshot injury but has since been stabilized. Abiodun emphasized the ongoing nature of the operation and the government's commitment to ensuring safety in the state.

He also acknowledged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's leadership and the federal government's efforts in enhancing security across Nigeria, citing recent successful operations against criminal activities.
