Adebayo and 12 Others Expelled from SDP in Abuja

On Wednesday, during the Social Democratic Party's (SDP) national convention held in Abuja, Adewole Adebayo, the party's presidential candidate, along with 12 others, was expelled by the faction led by Shehu Gabam. The decision was made through a voice vote among delegates loyal to Gabam, who also adopted Lagos businessman Abimbola Atanda as the party's new sole presidential candidate.

The expulsion was part of a broader move to dissolve the national working committee and elect a fresh set of national officers. Other individuals expelled alongside Adebayo include Sadiq Gomb, Olu Agunloy, Rufu Aiyenigba, Joseph Abu, Maggi Batubo, Sa Adatu Abdullahi, Abimbola Aderemi, Oguchukwu Uba, Huseesini Bello, Alabi Lekan, Rosemari Effiong, and Abubakar Modibo.
