Amaechi Rejects ADC Presidential Primary Results

Rotimi Amaechi, the former Minister of Transport and Governor of Rivers State, has publicly rejected the results of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary election. He described the process as flawed and inconsistent with democratic principles, stating that he would not accept the results, which he deemed a concocted outcome.

Amaechi insisted that the primary did not meet the standards of being free, fair, and transparent. He highlighted that a large portion of ADC members were disenfranchised during the exercise, claiming that 80 percent of party members were not allowed to vote.

He warned that the ADC risks losing credibility if it fails to uphold internal democracy and compared the situation to practices criticized in the All Progressives Congress (APC). Amaechi emphasized that the ADC must serve as a platform for the voices of the downtrodden and that the failure to conduct credible primaries undermines the party's mission.
