APC's Biodun Oyebanji Wins 2026 Ekiti Governorship Election

Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the winner of the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election, securing 319,224 votes. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the results, confirming that Oyebanji defeated his closest rival, Dr.

Wole Oluyede of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 40,543 votes. Dare Bejide of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) came in third with 12,872 votes.

The election was conducted across 16 local government areas in Ekiti State on June 20, 2026. Professor Adenik Oladiji, the Chief Returning Officer, certified Oyebanji's victory, stating that he met all constitutional requirements.

The election process faced criticism for alleged irregularities and massive vote buying, but the results were officially announced without changes.
